What is the minimum amount of notice required to elope?

Legally, we need a minimum of three working days, but ideally a week or longer to allow us to work our magic & secure your date! We are currently taking bookings up to 18 months in advance.


Is it easy to elope in New Zealand?

It's very easy to get married in New Zealand. We take care of everything on the day and leading up to is. We’ll hold your hand and walk you through the marriage application process. All we need from you are a few details!


If we get married in New Zealand is our marriage legally recognised world wide?

YES! How awesome is that!


How does payment work?

After we have fleshed out exactly what package & services / any extras you may require, we will confirm your quote. From here, a non-refundable deposit (about 30%) is required to secure our services with the final payment due one calendar month prior to your wedding. If you book less than one month before your wedding, the total sum is payable upon booking.


What should we wear?

As much as we love high heels, short sleeves & long flowing dresses for the ladies; we are often on an adventure in an alpine climate, so please don’t forget to bring something to wrap up warm & something you can walk across mountainous terrain in. Think chuck-taylors, timberlands or anything in-between to keep you sturdy on the ground. We can always have a sneaky footwear or outfit change on location.


What if the helicopter cannot fly due to bad weather conditions?

We are more than happy to work with you to secure an alternative location or date.


Is the time of day and lighting very important when it comes to creating beautiful photos?

Absolutely. Golden hour, as you’ve probably heard before, is 1-2 hours before the sun sets over the horizon. This is hands down, unarguably the best time to get those dreamy photos with some stunning light; so it’s important to us that we can try our best to plan your ceremony and adventure for the day with this in mind.

We know the Wanaka & Queenstown areas very well when it comes to different seasons, which all affect the timing of this beautiful lighting. Please chat to us further for advice on our recommendations for your desired wedding or session locations. Who doesn’t love a good sunset to top off a wedding!?


We’re not too keen on a helicopter flight, but would love our photographs to be taken in the mountains... help!

We have two options - firstly, we can reassure you that our helicopter pilots are top-notch, super skilled blokes and ladies, who have been flying safely for decades. They only fly in the safest of conditions. If this isn’t your thing, we know a few land-based spots - that make for some pretty epic imagery. Let’s make it an adventure!


Can you help with the structure of the ceremony?

Your ceremony should reflect your love story, and each couple is unique. We’ll grab some details from you, draft up your personalised ceremony, and have a bit of a yarn about how to write your vows! We will ensure all of the (less interesting) legal requirements are met & you leave married.


Are you child / pet / wheelchair friendly?

All of our packages vary & we are keen to enable you to have your loved ones with you. All of our packages are child-friendly & we are happy to accommodate by assisting with accessible venues & locations, where required. Due to the nature of helicopters, it is a little difficult to get your furry friends on the mountain tops, however our Explore the Land packages are suitable for animals of most shapes & sizes.


Can we bring our own witnesses or a few close friends/family?

We are more than happy to accommodate - just let us know & we can quote you accordingly; depending on how many as we may need to charter a second helicopter if you have chosen our Up + Away packages.


Will you be sharing our photos online?

We love weddings & love to share beautiful moments! On occasion, these feature in one of our online blogs, on our social media pages or perhaps in a magazine. However, if you’re not keen for us to share your images, please let us know before your big day.


We notice your packages include a gourmet grazing platter or a cake - yum! I’ve got dietary requirements, can you cater?

Gluten free, dairy free, paleo, vegan or all of the above - you name it, we’ve got the most delicious snacks in town to keep your energy levels high! On that note, bubbly not your thing? We have local craft beer & non-alcoholic options available too. Please let us know when booking, so we can ensure your day is perfect.


What’s the difference between an elopement & a pop-up wedding?

We’re glad you asked! All of our elopement packages are tailored to your requests - the time, date, location, preferences… you name it! Our pop-up weddings are pre-packaged and ready for you to roll-in. The dates and times on our pop-up packages are set, as are the venue decorations. Our pop-up weddings include all of the traditional wedding elements, while our elopement packages are more of an adventure!
